Displaced, Forgotten, But Not Forsaken
In the Ivory Coast refugee camps, thousands of displaced people have fled their homes with almost nothing. Many families were forced to leave suddenly, and those who were caught with belongings were sometimes targeted or killed. Over 6,000 people have been placed in the care of others, carrying deep trauma, loss, and uncertainty about the future.
Most refugee situations come with many restrictions, and in many UN-linked camps, practical aid may be allowed while preaching the Gospel is tightly monitored. Faith of the Nations describes this outreach as a rare and unusual open door — a place where people can receive both humanitarian care and spiritual ministry.
These are men, women, and children who have lost homes, security, and stability. Yet in the middle of fear and displacement, this ministry sees a chance to bring hope — not only to physical needs, but to the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

What We Do
Faith of the Nations serves on the ground in the Ivory Coast refugee community by providing immediate humanitarian aid while also ministering to the spiritual and emotional needs of displaced families. Their outreach includes practical relief, children's ministry, and Gospel-centered encouragement in places where hope is often in short supply.
The ministry has shared Bibles, clothes, food, and mattresses for the aged, and was even able to help provide electricity and lighting to one of the darkest corners of the camp. It also launched a children's journaling initiative by purchasing 600 booklets and pens, helping children process trauma and rediscover hope for the future.

An Open Door Like No Other
Faith of the Nations describes this outreach as one of the most unusual open doors they have seen in a lifetime of ministry. In a place shaped by displacement, loss, and fear, they found not only overwhelming need, but also an openness to receive prayer, compassion, and the message of hope.
One of the most powerful moments came through ministry to children. After providing 600 journals and pens, the team asked the children a simple question: If you could talk with God face to face, what would you ask Him? What is your dream for your future? What began as a small act of care became a deep release of pain, grief, and longing. The camp director told them that what might have taken psychologists and counseling months, God began to do in only a few days.
This is what makes the Africa outreach more than humanitarian aid alone. It is not only about meeting urgent physical needs, but about helping people believe again that life is not over — only interrupted — and that restoration is still possible.
